Feeling green on a somewhat grey day. In the kitchen roasting vegetables for dinner and looking forward to some sketching and tidying in my living room closet/studio this evening.

I'm running to the library with some overdue books today, oops. I wanted to share a few images from Ursula Buchan's 'Garden People',  the photographs of Valerie Finnis. A record of the British gardening scene from the 1950's-70's with beautiful photos of gardens and fashion.

My friend Alison stopped in for tea last week and I snapped this picture of her. Oh how I envy those who can braid their own hair. I am limited to buns and ponytails but in time this may change. Moving in the direction of making dinner right now and feeling ready for a night in with a movie. Good night.

I spent the day printing hankies and taking pictures. More sunny days on their way and I'm happy to see some spinach and lettuce seedlings sprouting up in the garden. Some late weekend inspiration here and here.

cutting silhouettes from old dictionary pages... cards, artwork? still thinking about step two. quiet week, lovely weather, enjoying the last days of summer. in my garden there is work to be done but I'd rather be visiting with friends and reading. I started in a book club on the weekend, this is our selection. a new experience I'm looking forward to this winter. 

I just finished my first week back to work after a long summer holiday. It feels good to get back to a schedule, it makes the weekends feel like such a treat and it pushes me to use my time wisely. This weekend I plan to spend time in my garden and at the drawing table. Tonight we'll be here. My boy has four pieces up for auction, all to support the school.
