Friday, December 19

Today school closed for the winter holidays!! I feel sad to leave the students for two whole weeks but I'm thrilled to be free for this time too. It's still winter in Victoria and more snow seems to be heading our way. I'm planning meals for the next few days so there will be no need to venture into the chaos for a bit. I look forward to snuggling in and feeling cozy at home in the coming days.

It's late to share this link but I found the sweetest online advent calendar by Hanna Konola, via fine little day. Great idea.

Monday, December 15

It's winter in Victoria!! It snowed over the weekend and it looks like it's staying. I'll be travelling on foot until the streets clear so today, during a slippery hike, I fantasized about my dream boots from duckfeet. I discovered these lovelies through the Swedish blog, Liebling allsorts. They aren't sold in Canada so I'm not able to try them on but I've never been so tempted to take the plunge. We'll see. Winter Break starts in a few short days so I'll post some pics from my most recent crafting adventures once gift exchanges have occurred.                                           Good night.

Monday, December 1

Today I wanted to share with you some bike/fashion love from The Sartorialist. I love some of the leather bike accessories but don't know how they'd fare in Victoria's wet weather.

Sunday, November 30

I'm spending this weekend relaxing and reflecting on this year's Noel Bazaar. It's always such a fun and challenging experience for me and this year was probably my favourite. These are just a few pics from the table I shared with Ms. Rachel Evans, she makes the felt sushi rolls and incredible stuffed and felted creatures. I hope to post more work soon but for now I'm going to do laundry and drink some coffee.

Tuesday, November 25

Just a quick hello today. If you're in the area come and check out Noel Bazaar running Wednesday 5-10,Thursday 2-10 and Friday 2-10.

Saturday, November 22

I'm working hard over here getting ready for the craft fair next week. Today I'm working on tea towels and gift tags. I haven't spent much time on this computer as of late so I will be more attentive after winter crafting duties are complete.

I do plan on taking a break some time today to attend Regalia Boutique's Coronation. I can't wait to see this new space focusing mainly on local designers and crafters.
Have a great weekend!

I love this photo shoot currently on Anthropologie's website. I'm not sure if the sculptures are by French artist Marie Cristophe but they immediately made me think of her. The pictures below are from Italian Elle Decor, Dec, 2004. I especially love her hand written words in wire.

Tuesday, November 11

Scenes from my sketchbook. Grey outside, fitting for Remembrance Day. Sketching and mapping out tea towel designs in my head. Lots of work avoidance happening here, three loads of laundry and vacuuming too! Time to get to it, I'll post again soon.

Friday, November 7

Well It's been a while since my last post, the time change has left me a bit confused but my schedule is realigning. I haven't been taking many photos so I thought I'd share with you some new Etsy favourites.

.    Dot tote bag from Piano Nobile
..   Twinkling/Sea Maze prints from yoo-ii
...  Wax tunic from local favourite Trapper Jane
.... Olivia top from snoozer loser

I'm now off to Calgary to see some good friends, brand new babes and possibly snow. Have a happy weekend!

Beautiful photographs from Tim Walker. I would love to spend time in all of these enchanted locations. I especially love the silhouette parade at the top. View more Tim Walker photography here. Happy Halloween!

Printing, printing, printing. Not a lot to report today. On the weekend we went to see Ladyhawk and I did some garden work.
.................
I like that my new teatowels match my current bouquet.

Friday, October 24

Hey Friday! A little cooler today. I imagine these angora mittens from Flocks would be lovely for riding my bike and keepin cozy. Flocks is a knitwear label based in The Netherlands, they create beautiful sweaters and accessories as well as home decor like rugs hand knit on giant needles. I believe that a lot of their pieces are created from the fibre of a single animal, I love the tag detail on the sweater above. Yes, it's definitely time to bring out the wool.

Thursday, October 23

The weather has been beautiful this week. Yesterday I went for a walk and saw some extraordinary colours. I love Autumn and often miss the east coast at this time of year but the sunshine this week fills me with smiles.

This is sweet too.

Monday, October 20

It's so exciting to come home to mail! Today I received my very first etsy purchase. This print by LA artist ah-yi has been on my favourites list for a while and now it's come to live with me! Her packaging was art in itself so I included pics. In other news, my husband has a piece in a furniture show that opened this past weekend.

Friday, October 17

The fruits of my labour. Knitting adventures have yet to begin and the house is still a mess but all of these hankies are printed and heat set! On my way to work now, Happy Friday!

Wednesday, October 15

All in a row. Getting the house tidy before a visit with the family this weekend. I'm also doing a bit of printing today and getting my knitting gear out from hibernation. A friend is hosting a stitch & bitch tomorrow evening and I'm in need of some new slippers. I copied a pattern from a friends book last year but now to locate it... really would prefer these some day.

Monday, October 13

Today while roasting root vegatables and getting dressed for dinner I found some true love over at Raasta. (via ohjoy) Happy Thanksgiving.

At my bed side, some good books and beautiful late afternoon light. So excited about this new daily read!
